I am the proud mommy of a beautiful little monkey named Jacob Xavier (born 2/28/08). He is by far the greatest creation I have ever worked on! And after 26 hours of active labour and an emergency C-section probably one of the hardest projects I've ever completed!!

In February 2008, at the start of my maternity leave, I found myself at home with some free time and my mind craving creativity. I started sewing for my soon to be little monkey and loved every minute of it - so much so I decided to create Mommy's Lil Monkey. I enjoyed the creations I came up with so much I thought maybe others would too! When not at home being a mommy I work full time as a retail manager for an emerging wireless company and have a background in social work and film. My loving and supportive husband Alistair has helped create this site and lets me have some quiet time to sew whenever he can!
